EXPO 2010 - an update

It's been a while since I posted about the Expo 2010 gig that we're working on with the Australian Government for EXPO 2010 in Shanghai.

First up I thought I'd give you a glimpse of the building that we won the design tender with - it's been designed by our architectural partners Wood Marsh.

Core to our approach was to work backwards and design a building that worked around the show concepts that we developed separately going into the tender.

The Australian Pavilion at World EXPO 2010

The building brands us as the Australian Pavilion while standing on it's own as a great piece of architecture - and that's important at a World Expo. There is a real element of competition at these things, you are constantly looking at other pavilions and seeing if we can do it better, what worked and what didn't.

In the old days you had to wait ages to see what other people were up to but thanks to the internet, presto!
